Don?t rush applying blush

Added: 10/20/2005

Applying blush on your face you need to keep in mind a great number of details because there are so many different blush types and each and every sort of blush has to be used for a certain occasion. The actual method of applying blush is also important because that can give different results. But it is also important to learn as much as possible about different sorts of blush and how to intensify the cheek color.

Blush is a wonderful part of daily make up and can be used on any part of the face but mainly it is used to add a little deeper cheek color. Recent statistical studies have shown that women use blush not so often these day. More than 60% of women used blush in 1970 and now this number is only slightly higher than 40%. But blush can be used for many different occasions and it changes that entire look dramatically. Even a light touch of blush can give you a fleshier look and make the color tint a little deeper which adds more life, and it looks more natural. Possibly the main reason that women avoid using blush is a seeming complexity of choosing between different sorts of blush and applying blush in the appropriate manner. There are numerous kinds and sorts of blush these days, and it is hard to understand which sort of blush is best suited for which occasion. But life can be much easier and you just need to know several simple tips on how to apply blush. Blush is presently available in powder, cream, liquid and gel forms. Some producers also offer other forms of blushers but these are the most usual and you probably won't need anything else. It is always better not to use different types and colors of blush at one time. That can give pretty strange results and ruin the entire makeup. On some occasions you can use cream and powder blush together, if you have a mixed type of skin. Applying blush can become easier, if you remember simple rules. First of all, use only those blush colors that are close to your natural skin color. Radical difference in color can result in terrifying effects. When applying blush for the day time, try to use a little lighter tones and using blush in the evening get some darker tones. To achieve better results, try to use the blush type that suits your skin type best. Powder blush in most cases will be great for all kinds of skin. Gel blush is best for a little oily and natural skin types. And cream blush as long as it has a great amount of moisturizing components is meant for dry skin. Applying blush has to be the last step in your make-up procedure. Try to finish your foundation, all eye makeup and powdering before you use blush. That allows seeing how your blush tone matches the rest of your make up because your look needs to be balanced. And, please, forget about all those compact forms of blush that are offered in the market in a great number. They are too stiff to give you a nice and natural look. Applying blush, first of all, find your cheekbone - smile looking in the mirror and you will see it. Then add color slightly along your cheekbone. Use only a full brush, round in form, other types are not that good for applying blush. Most of the brushes that go along with your blush do not give the desirable result but if you have a special brush, you will get a wonderful professional look every time you use it. But do not forget to clean it (it is pretty easy to clean them with baby wipes), otherwise they can become dangerous for your health as long as bacteria can appear on them. If you use liquid or gel forms of blush, it is better to apply them with your fingers in round movements.
